Friday Night Talks begin at 7 pm Eastern time (8 Atlantic, 5 Mountain, 4 Pacific)

Life is shaped by a stream of choices--some are minute, some are life-changing. The path of Dharma is also shaped by what we accept and reject. What do we base our decisions on--Logic? Habit? Fear? Wisdom? The Buddhist teachings give simple and skillful guidelines for making decisions that will take our lives in the direction of wakefulness and compassion.

Acharya Richard John was an early student of Chӧgyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Richard was appointed an acharya by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. He has for many years taught Shambhala Buddhist programs in the US, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, and Chile. He completed the first three-year group retreat at Gampo Abbey, and he now teaches full time. Acharya John and his wife Liz reside in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

You should receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of registration. Sometimes registration emails end up in spam or junk folders. It's also possible you've unsubscribed from emails from Shambhala, which prevents you from receiving the necessary emails. If you don't receive the confirmation email, please contact [email protected]

All paid registrants receive a link to the zoom recording early the following week.

Talk proceeds will be shared with the Chögyam Trungpa Institute at Naropa University.
