Room: Main Shrine Room

The theme for this all-day nyinthun will be an exploration of the Heart Sutra, which gives us the Buddha’s teachings on discovering freedom from fixation and uncovering the open space of Buddha nature, or basic goodness. This teaching is the heart essence of the Buddhist view of reality. All are welcome to participate in all or any part of the day.

The day includes chanting of the Heart Sutra and other chants; group sitting and walking meditation; dharma readings, contemplations and discussion; lunch and tea breaks. Meditation instruction is also offered during the morning for those requesting it.

Please note: authorized practioners of Shambhala Sadhana, Stroke, Ngondro, & Werma will be able to practice silently in the Tantra shrine room, joining the sitting practice group for opening and closing chants, lunch and tea.

Donation: Please consider a donation of $10 - $25 for this practice. All offerings are appreciated. You can donate when registering online or in person.

Future full day Nyinthuns,

January 27th,  Insight and Compassion / Shastri Diana Evans

In January we will explore how the basic meditation practice of mindfulness leads organically to the development of insight and compassion. When the mind begins to settle and relax, natural wisdom and kindness arise.  We figure out how to work with others genuinely, without getting in the way of what is truly needed.

February 24th, March 10th, April 21st to be determined.
