    Room: Main Shrine Room

All are welcome to celebrate this time of beginnings and light.
You don't need a child "escort" to attend this family celebration!

Children's Day honors the spirit and innate wisdom of children and families. This is an opportunity for all of us to rediscover this energy in ourselves.

Because the solstice marks the time of year when the night is longest and daylight has waned, celebrating light is a special characteristic of this holiday. At a time when the weather begins to bear down upon us, we turn to family for celebration, creativity, and generosity.

Anyone with a youthful spirit is invited to attend this day celebrating the beginning of a new season with the children & families of our community.

This year, Children's Day also falls on the Full Moon so we will have our community practice of the Shambhala Sadhana at the beginning of the program.

3:00 - Arrival and Crown and Lantern Crafts
    3:30 - Children's Day Procession of Light
    4:00 - Children's Day Play and Children's Blessing
5:15 - Community Celebration with Crafts and Food

    The Children's Blessing

This is a special ceremony in which we introduce and welcome children to the culture of Shambhala. It's a beautiful opportunity to appreciate our own nature of goodness.

Celebratory and uplifted attire is welcomed!

    Cradles to Crayons Donation Drive

Cradles to Crayons Boston provides kids with essentials they need, free of charge. They do this by engaging communities that have resources and connecting them with communities in need. Their "KidPacks" are hand-selected with care to meet a local boy or girl’s specific needs and wants.  Please bring new and gently-used items for children ages newborn to 12 years old that you would like to donate to help children this winter.

During Children’s Day we will have a craft table set up to make encouragement cards for the children we are donating to. We hope to see you there!
