This Sunday evening practice is designed to support body awareness for a well-rounded sitting meditation practice.

When we put our body in different "shapes" it changes the relationship between body and mind. By synchronizing movement and breath, we begin to recognize and peel back layers of habitual patterns so that we can truly stabilize our whole being.

This practice starts with a strong sense of grounding to support a connection to the earth and awaken our sense perceptions. Various movement poses follow, based on the season and needs of the participants. We finish with a guided journey of body awareness, known as yoga nidra, so we can allow the energy of the practice to complete it's intended work.

Whether you're an experienced yogi or completely new to embodiment practices, this workshop will help you untangle the energetic and physical knots so that you can leave feeling more aligned with body, speech, and mind.

This workshop is open to all, no yoga experience is necessary. We invite you to wear loose or stretchy comfortably fitting layers. A large shawl, or small blanket, may be appreciated for the end of practice. You're welcome to bring a yoga mat if you would like, but it's not necessary. Various props will be provided to support active and resting poses.

We will begin promptly at 6:00pm and there will not be anyone available to open the door for latecomers. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to get settled so we can begin on time. As always, there is tea and cold water available in our community room.
