The Three Volume Profound Treasury texts present Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche's teaching on the Hinayana, Mahayana, and Vajrayana in a way that joins traditional Buddhist concepts with contemplative, experiential understanding, in vivid language which is as fresh today as when they were first taught. The tantric path requires complete engagement and fierce dedication.

Mahamudra is a meditation tradition within tantric Buddhism that points to the nature of awareness itself.  In this view, all experiences arise from a mind that is naturally vast, empty and luminous. This class will explore Chögyam Trungpa’s teachings on Mahamudra, increasing our understanding of sacred outlook, mind and its projections, one-pointedness, and devotion, among other topics. These explorations will be grounded in our practice of meditation and our own insights into the nature of our minds.

The class format is facilitated discussion, closely tied to passages in the readings from the Vajrayana Volume of the Profound Treasury text. The expectation is that students will actively engage in the topics and complete each reading assignment prior to the class discussion.

Books can be purchased at the Shambhala Center or online by clicking here: The Tantric Path of Indestructible Wakefulness: The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma, Volume Three
